Acrylic Architectural Glazing drop

Unlike float glass acrylic panels can be used as structural elements in architecture. Acrylic is used to high loads and has proven to retain its stability over several decennia.

One of the most obvious uses is in relation to separating water bodies (e.g. underwater windows for swimming pools, acrylic aquariums or other large water shapes.

Those elements can be used to devide the room, while transforming the view by the material's transparency. With the help of acrylic blocks the water body can stand upright in space - leaving its sides open for spectators to watch the underwater scenery - while retaining the water. Sunlight can be broken by those water bodies and illuminate the adjacent rooms in its very special fashion.

In the outdoors there are several other applciations for acrylic architectural glazing. Ocean views can be retained where formerly bulkheads spoilt the environment with the help of acrylic elements. [to be continued...]
