Acrylic Water Feature

Singapore is arguably -after Dubai- the city in Asia with the most excentric construction taking place.
The Marina Bay Sands is a world-class luxury resort and casino with convention and exhibition facilities.
Find drawings on this page showing the design intent of the water feature, called the 'Vortex Bowl'. Its diameter is planned to extend 20 metres.
The original intent was to create a 'water vortex' in the acrylic bowl as a feature, but local government restrictions may mean that having a large opening, in the center, in a building between floors may not be allowed.
As of November 2007 the architects are not releasing further details for this feature made of casted acrylic. Hydrosight has been asked for subcontracting the acrylic bowl, but as of March 2008 our involvement remained limited to some recommendations.
