The north east of Germany is a popular summer holiday location. The bundesland Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has a lot of unspoiled nature and lots of beaches at the baltic sea. The Ozeaneum, Germany’s biggest aquarium, is located here in the town of Stralsund. The Tierpark Ueckermünde is located to the east of Stralsund. The Tierpark is a small zoo with a typical mix of animals, including monkeys, lions and kangaroos.

Hydrosight finished the underwater window for one of the tierpark’s fish ponds. The pond is meant for sturgeons. Sturgeons have been endemic in the area.

About Pond Windows: Most ponds we know of are waterproofed using a pond liner. This is also the method used in Ueckermünde. Other ponds use a concrete render onto concrete blocks and pond paint. Windows for this type of ponds should use our adhesive flange type of windows.
